Midday Cravings? I got you covered

Have you ever noticed that in the later part of the day you start to crave something sweet?
This is your body looking for a boost in glucose (our energy source) and that's normally found in foods high in carbs.
Snack Ideas For Midday Cravings + Boost Energy

I'm a fan of 'snacking', like a HUGE fan....And I recommend most of my clients to do it too, if their schedules allow.

Why?

Eating small, frequent meals/snacks can often times boost your metabolism without you even doing anything. When you eat often, your body will generally feel better.

You will have more energy, better concentration throughout your day, & you are less likely to binge eat when you get home from work because you 'forgot to eat' all day.

I’ve put together a list of “sweet” snack ideas that will help to satisfy your midday cravings - while also providing you with the essential nutrients you need to keep going all day long. You'd never guess these snacks are packed with protein, & have good-for-you fats (like nuts and seeds).

Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut (optional) Protein Balls

Ingredients:

  • 10 medjool dates, pitted⁣

  • 3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter⁣

  • 3 tbsp pure unsweetened cocoa powder⁣

  • 1/4 cup cashew milk (or similar nut milk)⁣

  • 2 1/2 scoops chocolate protein powder⁣

[toppings- optional]⁣

1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut⁣ (to roll them around in!)

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients (except for the dates) in a blender and pulse until it forms a thick, sticky batter

  2. Throw in 1-2 medjool dates at a time, blending thoroughly until combined. By the end, the mixture should get very thick and become more solid than batter-like. Take your time with the blender and ensure that everything is incorporated evenly. (You may need to add a bit more milk if it gets too thick.)

  3. Spoon mixture into your hands and roll into a 1-1.5 inch ball.

  4. Roll ball in shredded coconut before placing in a storage container to set. Repeat until the entire mixture is used.

Note: You will definitely need a high-powered blender for this.
